Happy 4th!

I hope you had a great 4th of July!

I sure did!
We went over to my friend Ethan's house for a BBQ

Mommy and I lit a sparkler

I really wanted to hold it

so Mommy let me!!!
(with her help of course)

Family Photo
Daddy helped me fire off my first firework!

I did NOT like it one bit
and started getting scared when the other fireworks started going off

We came home and Daddy helped me make a quiet "firework" in a bottle

we put glitter in a jar

and I helped make a HUGE glitter mess

then we broke a glow stick and emptied the liquid into a bottle
We shook it and then it transformed into
an awesome quiet "firework" display!!!
( Turn off all the lights in the house to get the best affect!)
Not sure why I was looking down in this picture,
but trust me - I was thrilled with the results!

Cast OFF!

Do you notice anything different about my arm?!
My cast is OFF!!!
Mommy gave me some of my favorite fruit to eat
and then announced we had a special
day planned to celebrate

We went to the Bellevue Downtown Park
where I got to look at and chase ducks

then we took a walk

then I swung with Daddy

went down some slides

rode the horses

did some more swinging

had a snack

and then kicked my soccer ball around with Daddy

It was an awesome way and day to celebrate my cast
being taken off!

Busy Board

Helping Daddy create a Busy Board for me!

Almost done...

Putting the finishing touches on it

Peekaboo - I see YOU!

I use my Busy Board everyday
and it helps me with my fine motor skills
Daddy and Mommy found these pieces at Goodwill and then used them for my Busy Board
Can you guess what they all are?!

Pepper mill grinder, mirror, lever off a canning jar, timer,
and collapsible colander!

I have so much fun playing with it,
I even play with it in my crib!

Mommy was inspired by this blogger to create a busy board for me...Here is the original website where she got the idea: http://lilla-a-design.blogspot.com/2011/03/aktivitetstavla.html . Daddy purchased some wood, sanded it down, and then we took a trip to Goodwill where we purchased all sorts of contraptions. We came home, took them apart, and then I helped Daddy build my own Busy Board! I play with it almost every day and it helps me learn fine motor skills too!
