Special Announcement

I have a surprise to tell you...
Can you guess by what I am holding?
If not, here is a better hint!
That's right! I'm going to be a BIG BROTHER!!!!
The Doctor says Baby is coming June 19th.
We are all very excited.
I haven't been posting much lately because
Mommy has been very sick and I've been taking care of her.
I flush the potty, pat her back, and sing her Jesus Loves Me.
She says I am going to be a great Big Brother!

Flubber

Flubber - what can I say about it...? How about FUN?!!
The texture is off the charts!

Even though Mommy messed up on the EASY recipe and bought cheap glue,
didn't stir the mixture until it completely dissolved, and didn't strain out all the water,
it still came out super cool!

I spent a good 30 minutes, squeezing, rolling, cutting, and mashing it up!
Here is the EASY recipe if you want to give it a try.
 I would highly suggest
following the directions precisely and using Elmers glue so you get it looking like the picture posted in the original blog, unless
you don't mind yours looking like mine - scrambled eggs.. ;)

C is for Creation

God made the trees.
I learned this week about God's creation.
We read the Creation story in two different Bibles -
 the Jesus Storybook Bible and
Read and Learn Bible.

God made the flowers

God made plants and food to eat!
Mommy had me go on a vegetable hunt and these are
what I found hiding around the house.

She made this 'flower' as a snack.

I loved it so much I asked her to make me more flowers for
breakfast and snack time during the week.

My nature sensory bin

I was curious to see how many leaves and rocks there were,
so I lined them up and counted them.

I went on a Nature Walk with Mommy
and collected different sticks, leaves,
rocks, and bugs.
We ended our Nature Walk with a cool dip in the lake.

Mommy ran out of ideas for more flower snacks
so she made me a tree instead.
I liked it!

A is for Apple

Mommy started our school day off with an apple hunt.
I found them all!
I played with the apple sensory bin for quite awhile
and then took a short break for some apple lacing.

I went back to the sensory bin and took all of the apples,
acorns, leaves, and pumpkins out to count them.

Mommy helped me count since there were so many!

We read several apple books from the library
and the Bible story of Adam and Eve eating forbidden fruit.

and then I did some apple matching.

After the apple matching, it was time for an apple snack!

Mommy printed out a picture of me and then had me stack ten apples on my head
like in the book, Ten Apples On Top.
The apple hunt and this craft  were my favorite!

God's Word is a Treasure - X

Week 1 of Tot School
Sensory Bin
Found all the X's hiding in the bin
Mommy had me go on a Treasure Hunt
I found my first treasure hiding under a pillow - The Bible
Second treasure was my monkey backpack, which
I discovered in a drawer in the kitchen

My third and final treasure was a treasure chest full of school supplies.
Played with Playdoh and made lots of X's with my x stamp and cookie cutter
Had an X snack
Mommy gave me a box, paper, and glue to make a Pirate Ship
I had so much fun making it, I insisted that I eat my lunch in there!
We checked out Books To Grow On: Pirates from our local library and kept busy reading about pirate adventures and playing with the puppets that were included in the kit.

First Day of Tot School

First Day of School
We actually started school in the beginning of September, but our weeks have been so jammed packed
that I am just now getting to blogging this school year. Many new posts are on their way!
This year Mommy is incorporating God's Little Explorer's Curriculum for my lessons
and using the Read & Learn Bible and Jesus Bible Storybook for our Bible stories
I am very excited to start sharing all the fun things we have been doing and learning through play!

Number Target Practice

Mommy announced that we were going to play
a new game today and had me pick out three of my favorite balls.

She  then wrote numbers on paper plates and then taped them to the door.
After she called out a number, I had to find it, say it, and then hit it with a ball!
She told me she got her idea from the website -
I Can Teach My Child
What games do you play to learn your numbers?
